Things We Do | Evanston Baptist Church

We worship the one true God who has been revealed to us through creation, conscience and the canon of Christian scripture and who exists eternally as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as 3 persons in God yet one God.

We make disciples of Jesus as a Christians growing in faith together as a gospel community on God’s mission by prioritizing our worship gatherings, smaller group gatherings and one-to-one disciple-making.

We read and teach the Bible to people of all ages and walks of life, seeking to help each person to grow into spiritual maturity by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We pray regularly and fervently as we gather in worship on Sundays, as we meet in smaller groups, when we get together one-to-one, and when we spend time alone with God.

We love one another. This is the “new commandment” that Jesus gave to his followers. Our love isn’t sentimental or self-serving. It’s often costly and painful. But there’s nothing else like it.

We serve others in our church family and in the neighborhoods where we live and work. This sometimes takes us into nursing homes, art galleries, college campuses and back alleys.

We send missionaries around the world. Evanston Baptist Church is not a “safe” place to go to church. God could send you to another country. It’s been known to happen in this church. You’ve been warned.
