The management interface

OVH like 1 & 1 each have their own management platform. They do not use the famous cPanel unlike many hosts. This is not a problem in itself as their respective management interfaces allow you to do just about anything you need.

1 & 1 IONOS has recently redesigned its management interface and offers a modern and sleek design that is designed for non-technical users. The information is clear and it’s easy to navigate the interface.

At the top right you can quickly access your account or technical support. The notification bell warns you of technical issues or for billing reminders if you have not chosen automatic renewal. Anyway, you will also be notified by email.

OVH’s interface is also clean, but at first there seems to be a little more information on the screen. It seems to be a little less modern and more technical. However, the information remains clear and it is easy to navigate. Your customer account information is also at the top right of the screen and you can open a support ticket in case of problems.

If OVH like 1 & 1 IONOS offer an equivalent base price, the difference will be in the welcome promotions and the prices after the first year.

OVH thus offers its basic Personal Hosting package at € 3.59 incl. Tax / month and includes an essential domain name for the first year only. This means that you will have to pay around 10 € more from the second year.

The formula Hosting Activity of 1 & 1 IONOS is displayed 1.20 € VAT / month for 6 months, then goes to 3.60 € VAT / month. The difference is made on the domain name included for the duration of the contract! No extra money to spend the second year!
